Healthy Baked Apple with Cinnamon and Vanilla

I felt like I had to give a post on one of my favorite snacks coming fall time, even though it is a really simple recipe. Apples are particularly tasty and perfectly ripe during fall as that is when they are in season. To be honest pink lady apples does not really do the trick for me, I think something about the taste just seems a bit off for me. It does not taste as fresh as the norwegian apples during autumn, preferably grilled on a fire and rolled in cinnamon. But until then, baking them in the oven is an excellent runner-up.

Ingredients:
  • 2 apples, chopped into medium sized chunks
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Vanilla essence

Directions:
  • After removing the core, chop the apples into chunks or slices, before placing them in a bowl that is filled with cinnamon and roll around fast. When you are pleased with how much cinnamon is on the apples take them out and place in a fire proof pan (or on a baking sheet), and drizzle on some vanilla essence.
  • Place in the oven at 200 degrees Celcius/392 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-20 minutes, or until the apple are properly moist and cooked through.

Not only are apples delicious but the benefits of eating them are endless. The red antioxidant-packed fiber-rich fruit reduces cholesterol, the risk of obesity, various cancers, parkinson's, and lots lots more.

So eat up and enjoy!
